Installation and Design Services

Not all irrigation systems are created equal and since we believe that the true "future of irrigation" is not only providing top quality, water efficient irrigation systems but also the effective management of water usage, proper planning and design of your new irrigation system is essential to ensure high quality results.

Did you know:

v  Up to one-half of all potable water produced in our region goes to outdoor irrigation.

v  More than 50 percent of the water applied to lawns may be lost to evaporation or run-off because of over-watering.

v  Improved irrigation efficiency enhances landscape quality; helps to stretch local water supplies; and helps protect and sustain local water resources for area residents and the environment.

These little known facts are some of the most important things to consider when thinking about a new irrigation system. (Facts courtesy of South Florida Water Management District)

Design

We take the design of our lawn sprinkler systems very seriously. Our irrigation systems are designed in-house by a qualified Irrigation Designer.  We don’t rely on our suppliers to do this.  Our designers know that a good irrigation design starts with the customer's needs, factors in site conditions such as plant species, sun exposure, slopes, soil type, water supply, and drainage situations.

B & R Industries, Inc. irrigation systems achieve water efficiency by designing the system with these methods:

v  Balanced precipitation

v  Proper head spacing

v  Managing pressure losses

v  Zoning system based on needs of microclimates

v  Using check valves in heads where needed

v  Using drip irrigation when applicable for planting beds and trees

v  Using a rain sensor that will shut the system off in the event of rain

v  Backflow prevention devices to protect your drinking water from irrigation system contaminants

Installation

We do it right the first time!  A quality installation is just as important as a good design.  B & R Industries, Inc. goes above and beyond to make sure your lawn sprinkler system is installed right.  There are no short cuts at B & R.

v  We call the utility companies (gas, water, phone, power and cable) to have these underground items located for protection.

v  Our in-house irrigation license holder pulls the permits required to make sure the water supply is connected properly.

v  Our staff of Certified Irrigation Contractors take the responsibility of mentoring new employees that you'll have knowledgeable people installing your system.

v  This ensures all sprinkler heads and valves are installed flush with grade so that they're out of your way when you mow.

v  Piping is installed at least 12” deep into a clean trench

v  Installation is done using trenching method as it provides a more stable environment for the irrigation pipe which provides a longer lasting, lower maintenance lawn sprinkler system.

v  Single strand wire is used for all direct bury applications

v  Heads are set away from walkways or drives so edger operators are able to stay clear

v  Exposed wire at controller is installed in an electrical conduit for protection

v  UL approved wire splices are used at any in ground splice locations (always in a valve box)

v  Proper gluing techniques are used that include the use of pipe cleaner and primer

v  Reducing water pressure delivered to the irrigation system in the event that the pressure exceeds what is needed to operate the system effectively

v  Each site is left clean at the end of the job

v  All required inspections are completed

User Orientation

The job is not complete until the owner receives a complete orientation to their new system. Our staff goes the extra mile by providing additional materials.

v  An owner’s manual for the controller

v  A system review is conducted for the owner

v  A watering schedule is created based on historical water needs information and information provided by your local governing municipality.

v  The controller (if digital) is labeled with zone location information and other information that a user may need when programming.
